Clean water and hygiene are essential components to maintaining a healthy community and population. Unfortunately, a lack of clean drinking water and the inability to maintain proper hygiene and sanitation are an everyday reality for IDP and other vulnerable people.

REACH has a long history and well established reputation in the area of WASH assistance in Iraq.
Each location required different interventions and targeted a wide variety of beneficiaries including IDPs, stayees, returnees and vulnerable members of host communities.
REACH supports people with WASH programming designed to increase access to clean water, to create conditions for hygiene and sanitation, and also teach proper hygienic practices. Our focus is always on the issue of the gender, and one of our goals is to ensure dignity and safety.
Our WASH programme includes 5 main projects:
- hygiene kits, water jugs and water showers
- water tracking and drinking water distribution
- establishment of latrines and showers
- waste management
- hygiene promotion
